Known for his unfiltered opinion and answers, Saif Ali Khan has no calms in calling out a spade, a spade. Time and again we have seen many Bollywood actors calling out the award shows for being fake and materialistic. During his latest interview, Saif Ali Khan too opened up about the award shows and called them a ‘whole big tamasha’ and even when on to share an ordeal that happened with him at an award show. Not only that, he also shared how people thought he was undeserving for the National Award he won for Hum Tum.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Saif said, "Yes, I was seen to be undeserving of the few awards that I received earlier in my career, including the National award for Hum Tum. But I think over the years I’ve proven myself to be more worthy of recognition." He went on to say that he doesn’t believe in these award shows. He shared when he was once called to an award show she said that a senior person from the organization told him they wanted to give him Best Actor Award but now will give him Best Actor In A Comic Role.’
Saif told the publication, "To be honest, I don’t believe in them. Some years ago I was called for an awards function. When I got there someone higher up in the organization told me, 'We wanted to give you the Best Actor award. But you know how it is. We’ll give you the award for Best Actor in a comic role'."
